OGDENSBURG -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center has begun construction on a new Outpatient Wellness Center in the space vacated by its former residential healthcare facility.
This construction is made possible through a $2.6 million HEAL NY (Health Care Efficiency and Affordability Law for New Yorkers) Phase 11 grant.
The new center will include relocated and expanded services in pulmonary function testing, occupational and speech therapy, and sleep studies.
The outpatient lab drawing area will also be moved to the new area to allow for a three-bed psychiatric evaluation suite in the next phase of construction.
These things will increase the availability of outpatient services, on the first floor of CHMC, and improve efficiency in the emergency department.
