POTSDAM -- Cinema 10 will screen The Secret Agent / O Agente Secreto (Brazil/France/etc., 2025, d. Kleber Mendonça Filho, Portuguese/German/English), 161 min R, on April 13. While attempting to flee a military dictatorship with his son, a former professor realizes that the place he hoped to seek refuge is not as safe as he had hoped. Set against the backdrop of the 21 year dictatorship in Brazil, The Secret Agent is a taut political thriller featuring an electrifying performance by Wagner Moura (Narcos, Civil War). Reviewing the film for NPR, John Powers wrote, “This smart, brutal, often funny thriller uses the travails of one ordinary man to capture a reactionary era in its daily realities and surreal absurdities, its public cruelty and private decency.” Films are shown on Monday evenings at 7:15 p.m. in the Roxy Theater in Potsdam. Tickets are $6.50 general/$55 season or $5.50 student/senior/$45 season (season tickets are sharable). For more information please visit https://www.cinema10.org .
