CANTON – After 30 years of service, village Recreation Director John Taillon recently received a lifetime achievement award.
The award was presented to Taillon by the New York State Recreation and Parks Society.
He began working for the village on July 1, 1987 and his last day will be May 5.
He was recommended for the award by a fellow Recreation Director in Ogdensburg.
Mayor Michael Dalton and Town Supervisor David Button wrote letters of support.
The New York State Recreation and Park Society was founded in 1940 to support park, recreation and therapeutic professionals across the state.
