Beginning next week, Canton and Potsdam schools will begin delivering a week’s worth of groceries to each child, instead of several times per week.
The delivery of these groceries will begin on Wednesday, April 8, according to a statement from CCS Superintendent Ronald Burke.
Burke, who released a statement on the school’s Facebook page, said this switch will allow the school to provide a wider variety of foods while also further reducing opportunities for the spread of the coronavirus.
Beginning next week, PCS will provide food service once a week, according to PCS Superintendent Joann Chambers. Families will receive enough food each week to provide breakfast and lunch for every child in their household age 18 and under. Students do not need to qualify for a free or reduced-price lunch in order to receive food.
