CANTON -- Memorial Day ceremonies are planned in Canton for Monday, May 25. At 10:30 a.m. members of VFW Post 1231 will host a wreath laying ceremony on the Main Street bridge, honoring service members lost at sea. Beginning at 11 a.m. a formal Memorial Day ceremony will be held, honoring local veterans lost with a separate wreath laying ceremony. A three-gun salute will follow, along with singing by the Goldenaires barbershop group. A final ceremony will be held at Fairview Ceremony in observance of local fallen veterans interred at the location.
