COLTON — Although the camping season ended on Labor Day, Higley Flow State Park is open free to the public from 8 a.m. until sunset every day until the Friday of Victoria Day Weekend.
The Park offers quiet roads for walking, as well as several hiking trails, two day use lean-to’s, two playgrounds with nearby charcoal grills, a lodge to warm up in, horseshoe pits, basketball nets and a boat launching site. Hunting season is upon us and the Park provides a protected area for safe recreation.
Snow will be falling soon, when the trails will be groomed for xc skiing and snowshoeing, opening up a new world of beauty with trees shrouded in white cloaks of snow, crisp winter air and serene silence.
