Re-enactors gathered in the city Saturday and Sunday to recreate the Battle of Ogdensburg. The original battle took place during the War of 1812. Although the battle was small in scale, the British were successful in capturing the city, allowing them to maintain a supply line down the St. Lawrence River throughout the remainder of the war.
