BOMBAY — A Bombay woman was jailed Wednesday after allegedly attacking a victim with her fists and a rubber mallet, according to state police.
Johanna M. Hewitt, 27, was charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, officers said.
Around 2 a.m. police responded to 759 Depot St. in Burke to investigate a reported assault.
Troopers were advised that the suspect had fled the scene, officers said. Hewitt was located not far from the scene.
The victim was transported to Alice Hyde Medical Center with a laceration to her head.
Hewitt was remanded to Franklin County Jail on $500 bail, officers said.
The Burke Volunteer Ambulance assisted on scene.
