Blood Drive for Sickle Cell set June 22

POTSDAM -- A Blood Drive for Sickle Cell is being hosted on Saturday, June 22 by the Potsdam Juneteenth Celebration and Potsdam United Methodist Church, who are partnering with the Red Cross from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, located at 26 Main St. in downtown Potsdam.

The event is a warm-up for the free community Juneteenth Celebration that begins at 4 p.m. at the Ives Park Gazebo, on the river in Potsdam, full details at the website bit.ly/June22Potsdam.

Walk-ins are welcome, but pre-registration is helpful. Sign up at 1-800-RED-CROSS or online at RedCrossBlood.org to schedule your appointment, use the sponsor code potsdamny.

You may wish to consider a Power Red Cell donation if you are O Neg, O Pos, A Neg or B Neg. Download the Blood Donor App and use Rapid Pass to save time the day of the drive. All donors receive a free health screening prior to donating.

Those who come to give June 10-30, will receive both a voucher for a free pint of Stewart's ice cream and a $15 e-gift card to a merchant of choice. See details at RedCrossBlood.org/DoGood.
