NEW PALTZ, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam Volleyball team (8-10, 2-2 SUNYAC) defeated Plattsburgh State (6-13, 1-3) 3-0 in Pool Play on Friday night. It was the Bears third straight victory and events their conference record at 2-2.
Potsdam handled the Cardinals 25-19, 25-23 and 25-17 for the sweep. Sophomore middle hitter Monica Mack (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) led the Bears with a game-high 11 kills. Sophomore outside hitter Gabby Scott (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) contributed nine kills, eight digs, an ace and an assist. Fellow sophomore outside hitter Nicole Hansen (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley) had eight kills and junior libero Natalie Magallon (Commerce, Calif./Bell Gardens) posted a contest-best 25 digs and three aces. Senior setter Brianna Rodda (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem East) had a game-high 34 assists.
The Bears look to continue their momentum tomorrow when they face SUNY Fredonia at 2:30 p.m. and host SUNY New Paltz at 5 p.m.
