To The Editor:

I want to acknowledge the exceptional healthcare professionals in our community who often go unnoticed.

Recently, I was admitted to Rochester Regional Hospital in Potsdam with pneumonia and was transferred to the 2nd floor observation wing to recover, which took me six days.

The Ambulance team, ER doctors, nurses, and staff who cared for me were amazing. While in the hospital, I noticed a sign on the wall that read, "Nominate a rock star?"

I couldn't nominate just one individual. All doctors and nurses who cared for me, including the respiratory team, were phenomenal.

They treated me and others with the utmost care and dignity, also reassuring me when my breathing was difficult and I was anxious. The staff were always readily available whenever I needed help.

The food at the hospital was also outstanding. I enjoyed gourmet meals such as blueberry breakfast crepes and Grilled Chicken Marsala; I didn't ask my friends to bring me fast food.

Moreover, the care I received, and the well-balanced nourishing food, helped me to recover quickly. 

I am forever grateful to those nurses, doctors, and staff who work tirelessly, often doing 12-hour double shifts, who go unrecognized for their outstanding care. Thank you, you are all rock stars.
