COLTON — Adult Nordic Ski Lessons start Sunday, January 21, at Higley Flow State Park.
If you want to learn to ski, or to enjoy the sport more by improving your technique, please join the lessons hosted by Friends of Higley Flow State Park.
Starting January 21, a series of 4 consecutive Sunday lessons are planned from 1:30 - 3 p.m.
The first lesson is free, and you can register for three additional lessons for $30.
Lessons are based on a web-based program developed by Nordic Ski Lab in Calgary, Alberta, only with real, live, Higley skiers as coaches.
The final lesson will coincide with the Community Ski Challenge (February 9-11) and the miles we ski will be recorded to help Higley participants virtually ski across New York State.
Rental skis are available at the Higley Flow State Park headquarters before the lesson for only $7 per adult.
Experienced skiers who are willing to donate a couple of Sundays to help coach are needed. It is easy, fun, and rewarding to help others enjoy the sport we love so much.
If you are interested in pre-registering for lessons, helping coach, or just want more information, please contact Danielle at nordicmasters@higleyfriends.org to be added to the mailing list.
