OGDENSBURG – The music of ABBA and the Bee Gees will come to life at George Hall Auditorium in Ogdensburg May 2 when Ogdensburg Command Performances presents ABBAmania and Night Fever-The Bee Gees.
The world-renowned combined tribute performance is currently touring North America and has received rave reviews, being described both as ‘an unforgettable dance party,” and a “captivating stage performance.”
The dual performance relives the magic of ABBA’s timeless hits from Dancing Queen to Waterloo and Mamma Mia – while the Bee Gees tribute recreates the soulful harmonies and legendary hits like Stayin’ Alive, How Deep Is Your Love, and You Should Be Dancing.
Sales of music from the Bee Gees account for an estimated 200 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling music artists in history. Their most famous album, “Saturday Night Fever,” alone sold over 40 million copies globally.
Likewise, after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974, Swedish supergroup ABBA have gone on to sell in excess of 166 million records worldwide.
Ogdensburg Command Performances Administrator Sally F. Palao says the tribute performers coming to Ogdensburg Free Academy on May 2 at 3 p.m. are considered the best in the business when it comes to recreating the legendary music of both groups.
“By all accounts that I’ve seen, from critics to audience surveys, this tribute to ABBA and the Bee Gees is the best in the business,” she said. “From the nostalgic look and dress to the sound. This is an impressive performance that people do not want to miss.”
The May 2 performance of “ABBAmania and Night Fever-Bee Gees” will take place at 3 p.m. at the George Hall Auditorium at Ogdensburg Free Academy.
