POTSDAM — Potsdam Village Mayor Reinhold J. Tischler invites community residents and any interested parties to participate in an in-person, interactive design workshop for Potsdam’s Downtown Streetscape and Riverwalk Trail Project on Thursday, June 22 from 4:3-6 p.m. in the community room, 2 Park St.

Potsdam’s design consulting firm led by LaBella Associates will lead the workshop, offering an insightful glimpse into the preliminary landscape and engineering design for transforming Market Street and creating new public spaces in the heart of downtown Potsdam.

Attendees will have an opportunity to voice their opinions, shaping the look and feel of the proposed enhancements to our Village.

Comments will be welcome both during the session and in written format following the workshop.

Make sure to mark your calendars for this interactive workshop, which is the first of a two-part series.

These workshops present an exceptional opportunity for the Potsdam community to participate in the design process.

LaBella Associates will also host an information booth during Potsdam’s Summerfest, providing additional opportunities to learn more about the project and for residents to share their thoughts.

The concluding workshop will take place on Thursday, Aug. 3 from 6-8 p.m. in the community room.

The $4.3 million Downtown Streetscape and Riverwalk Trail Project grant is being provided by the New York State Department of State, and is part of the $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative award received by the Village in 2019.
