CANTON — Canton Village Police seized a large amount of marijuana, cocaine and more than $24,000 from a vehicle and arrested four men on drug charges Friday, Feb. 26.

A press release from the department said that around 1:30 a.m. a Chevrolet Trailblazer was observed on State Street with insufficient tail lights. The vehicle was observed to make an unsafe turn without signaling, police said, and officers pulled the vehicle over on State Highway 310.

The St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit, with K-9 officer Knowlton, was requested to assist at the scene. The resulting investigation revealed approximately 14 pounds of marihuana and 28.4 grams of cocaine. Police said more than $24,000 in cash was also seized from the vehicle. The K-9 officer recently completed her training and certifications, said the St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, and was on her second tour of duty with her handler, Deputy Lent.

The following occupants of the vehicle were arrested:

• Johnny Rivera, 42, of Moira, was charged with first-degree criminal possession of marihuana, insufficient taillights and unsafe turn without a signal;

• Damien Brandon, 18, of Peru, N.Y., was charged with first-degree criminal possession of marihuana;

• Bryan Cramer, 22, of Morrisonville, was charged with first-degree criminal possession of marihuana and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; and

• Andrew Snyder, 28, of Massena, was charged with first-degree criminal possession of marihuana.

All four men were arraigned in Canton Town Court and all four were released on their own recognizance. The subjects have been directed to return to Canton Town Court on March 24.
