St. Lawrence County Public Health reports 339 new cases of COVID-19 Friday; 2,458 active cases with 24 hospitalizations

St. Lawrence County Public Health reports another 339 active cases of COVID-19 as of Friday, Jan. 15, marking the fourth consecutive day of 300 or more.

Public Health also reports another rise in hospitalizations from 19 to 24.

Deaths and vaccination rates remain flat.

Transmission levels of the virus is rated as high, Public Health said.

COVID by the numbers:

• Total number of confirmed positives to-date, 21,348

• Active cases, 2,458

• Released from isolation, 18,728

• Hospitalizations, 24

• Deaths, 162

• Total number of tests performed to date, 501,743

• Percentage of Fully vaccinated in St. Lawrence County, 58.8

• Percentage of St. Lawrence County positivity rate, 14.72

• Case Rate per 100K, 1,019.12

The St. Lawrence County Public Health Department is in the process of reviewing the newly released New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Isolation and Quarantine Guidance at this time.

NYSDOH Isolation and Quarantine orders are now available online. If you do not want to wait for your phone call or are beyond day 5 and have not received a phone call from a case investigator or contact tracer, you can go online and fill out your orders here:

COVID-19 vaccines - including booster doses and pediatric doses for 5-11 year-olds — are free and widely available statewide through pediatricians, doctors, healthcare providers, pharmacies, local health departments, Federally Qualified Health Centers, rural health clinics and other locations across New York State.
