St. Lawrence County grand jury indicts Massena man for burglary, strangulation

CANTON – A Massena man accused of unlawfully entering a residence and choking a person inside the home was indicted Thursday by a St. Lawrence County grand jury.

Travis Green, 38, 62 Spruce St., was charged with second-degree burglary and second-degree strangulation. He allegedly entered and remained unlawfully in a dwelling in the Town of Stockholm on Sept. 4, and at that time choked a person.

In other grand jury action:

Peggy Almasy, 39, of 78 Clough St., Potsdam, was indicted on three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and one count of second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia. Court documents report that Almasy was in possession of cocaine and fentanyl with the intent to sell on Sept. 30 in the Village of Massena. It is also reported that she possessed materials suitable for the packaging of narcotics.

Christopher Lanning III, 24, 401 Haig Road, Potsdam, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. It is alleged Lanning possessed five grams or more of the stimulant methamphetamine on Aug. 19 in the Village of Canton.

Aaron Johnson, 32, of 121 Hatch Road, Hermon, was indicted for driving while intoxicated and first-degree unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. It is alleged Johnson was operating a motor vehicle in an intoxicated condition and knowing his driver’s license had been suspended or revoked in the Town of Russell on Sept. 25.

Jonathan Jobin, 38, no fixed address, was indicted for third-degree grand larceny, third-degree attempted grand larceny, fourth-degree criminal mischief, petit larceny, and driving while ability impaired by drugs. According to court documents, it is alleged Jobin stole a motor vehicle exceeding $3,000, stole cash from that vehicle and caused damage to a house in an amount exceeding $250 on Aug. 2 in the City of Ogdensburg. It is also alleged Jobin was under the influence of methamphetamine at the time of the incident.
