MASSENA — The annual Rocktober concert returns to Massena Central High School on Thursday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. for its first staging in the new high school auditorium.

Admission is $10 at the door.

The evening will begin with a short ribbon cutting ceremony and remarks from the superintendent and several other officials.

Then the school will take a moment to honor an MCHS alumni who lived her dream of becoming a Broadway Dancer and Cast Member. Stephanie Bissonnette graduated from Massena High School in 2009 and her journey led her to New York where she was cast as the original "Dawn Schweitzer" of Mean Girls.

Unfortunately, her life and dream was cut short and she passed away in December of 2022. The Music Department and Massena High School will honor her with a large photo on the wall of the auditorium, which will be unveiled immediately following the ribbon cutting ceremony, with her family in attendance.

The Rocktober show will then take over the stage and entertain the audience with more than 90 minutes of great tunes, sung by current Massena High School students and a couple recent alumni. The show will include a live professional band.

Every single bit of technology in the auditorium has been replaced and upgraded. The auditorium has an all new lighting system with new theatrical lights, a brand new state-of-the-art audio system, and a full video production system to the room.

All of this technology and more will be on display for the Rocktober show, said organizers.

Rocktober will feature songs from popular artists such as Taylor Swift, Sara Bareilles, Pink, Alicia Keys, Elton John, Harry Styles, Belinda Carlisle, Stevie Nicks, Joan Jett, and more.
