Ogdensburg hospital awarding six scholarships

OGDENSBURG -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Auxiliary will award six $1,000 scholarships this year to graduating students entering the Health Care Field.

Three $1,000 scholarships will go to a graduating child or grandchild of an employee or of an auxilian of Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center.

Three $1,000 Scholarships will be awarded to a graduating senior in one of the area school districts -- Ogdensburg, Lisbon, Heuvelton, Morristown, Madrid-Waddington or Hammond.

For this scholarship you do not need a parent or grandparent employed at CHMC or to be a member of the CHMC Auxiliary.

All applicants must complete the following steps for the scholarship application:

• maintain a grade point average of 80 or higher

• provide a written letter of application for the scholarship explaining why you feel you are qualified to receive this scholarship

• complete the application form for the scholarship.

• provide one written letter of recommendation from a teacher, administrator or guidance director

• attach transcript of grades.

All applications must be post marked no later than March 29.

If a step is left out of the application process, the application will become VOID with no exceptions.

Students should not rely on the guidance office to mail the application. It is ultimately the student’s responsibility.
