POTSDAM -- A new sexual harassment policy for the Town of Potsdam will include provisions that will cover non-employees such as contractors.
The town will have to prepare a new policy but is waiting for specific guidelines from the state legislature.
Town Attorney Frank Cappello says a new policy will cover not only town employees, but also contractors, consultants and their employees.
But the town is waiting to see a model policy before recommending specific provisions in preparation for devising and adopting a new policy,
The new policy will include an annual training requirement for town employees, councilors learned at Tuesday night's meeting.
