FORT COVINGTON Several police, emergency service personnel and fire departments participated in a mock car accident recently at the Salmon River High School involving a fatality and serious injuries.
The agencies involved were the Hogansburg-Akwesasne Volunteert Fire Department, Akwesasne Mohawk Ambulance Service, Fort Covington EMS and fire departments, state police, Akwesasne Mohawk Police Services, Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe and Stop DWI New York.
The scenario was a head on collision with teens driving both cars.
After the students were assembled in the arena parking lot, a prerecorded 911 call was placed which was played over the p.a. speaker to add authenticity.
