Massena Trinity Catholic School welcomes new principal

Posted

Marianne Jadlos has been hired as principal for the 2023-2024 school year.

Marianne is not new to Catholic education, having attended Catholic schools in Rochester and sending her own four children to Catholic schools in the north country.

She is also not new to the Diocese, having been a principal at two other schools, or to Trinity, having been a teacher, and most recently the interventionist there.

“When Joyce was looking to retire this past year, Marianne stepped up, and put her principal hat back on,” said Sarah Tsibulsky, Advancement Director at Trinity Catholic School.

This will mark her 10th year as a Catholic school administrator.

“Catholic education is my passion and I am ready to roll up my sleeves and help Trinity Catholic School continue to shine as a valued, loved, and blessed treasure in Massena,” Jadlos said.

Trinity School

Giroux had been a fixture at Trinity Catholic School for 29 years.

“While we were sad to see, to say she has earned it is an understatement,” said Tsibulsky.

Giroux moved to the North Country from Montana after seeing an ad for a music director for Sacred Heart Church. When she inquired about it, it was a part-time job, and she really needed a full-time position to move halfway across the country.

“They said that there was also a part-time position for a music teacher at Trinity and asked if that was something she could do. Could she? Of course! That’s what she went to school for. And so begins her career at TCS,” said Tsibulsky.

After 24 years of teaching music classes, chorus, and band, Giroux became principal of Trinity for the 2018-2019 school year.

“The school thrived under her Faith and leadership,” said Tsibulsky.

At the beginning of 2020, Joyce began to investigate retiring at the end of the school year.

“Joyce was an exceptional leader through that crazy and hectic pandemic, and she did not retire in 2020 as planned,” said Tsibulsky.

Nor did she retire in 2021.

“She felt she had to see the school through. 2022 looked to be her year, but unfortunately, no suitable applicants were found to replace her, and again, she stuck with us,” said Tsibulsky. “Finally, at the end of the 2022-2023 school year, the stars aligned, a new principal was found, and Joyce was able to retire! We wish her well and we know she loves not setting an alarm for the morning.”
