MASSENA - A Massena man has been charged in a case that resulted in dozens of counts against him, including rape, sexual abuse, assault, and strangulation.
The charges include nine counts each of first-degree reckless endangerment and unlawful imprisonment; six counts each of first-degree criminal sexual act and child endangerment; and three counts each of second-degree menacing, second-degree assault, first-degree sexual abuse, first-degree rape, criminal obstruction of breathing, and strangulation.
Provost was arraigned in Massena court by Judge Joe Brown and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton, in lieu of $25,000 bail or $50,000 bond, police said.
Massena Village Police detectives were assisted by the Department of Homeland Security in the investigation.
