Man charged with armed robbery at Canton store indicted by St. Lawrence County grand jury

CANTON – A Brooklyn man who is currently an inmate at the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility was indicted by a St. Lawrence County grand jury Thursday for first-degree robbery for allegedly robbing a Canton convenience store at knifepoint in December .

Tyson Bombard, 20, was also indicted for fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon stemming from the Dec. 16 robbery at the Sunoco store on Main Street in Canton.

It is alleged Bombard entered the store around 1:30 a.m. brandishing a knife and demanded money from the cash register. A police report said he fled the store on foot with the money and was apprehended a short time later on Riverside Drive.

In other grand jury action Thursday:

Trevor Samarco, 34, 423 Belmont Courts, Ogdensburg, was indicted for first-degree criminal contempt. It is alleged Samarco violated an order of protection issued Oct. 8 by Ogdensburg City Court Judge Marcia LeMay on Oct. 18 in the City of Ogdensburg.

Ryan Trautman, 41, of Naples, was indicted for first-degree criminal possession of cannabis and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Court documents report Trautman was in possession of more than 10 pounds of cannabis on Oct. 11 in the Town of Massena. It is also reported that Trautman was operating a motor vehicle with his operating privileges suspended or revoked.

Michael Brown, 42, of 377 County Route 41, Massena, was indicted for fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony. It is alleged Brown stole property exceeding $1,000 on Aug. 26 in the Village of Potsdam. It was noted Brown has a prior felony conviction, dated Dec. 22, 2015, for fourth-degree grand larceny.

William Rochefort, 27, of 107 Stoughton Ave., Massena, was indicted on two counts third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. It is alleged Rochefort possessed fentanyl, with the intent to sell, on July 29 and Aug. 1 in the Village of Massena.

Kale Foote, 33, of 32 Hailesboro St., Gouverneur, was indicted for first-degree criminal contempt and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation. It is alleged Foote violated an order of protection, issued July 9 in St. Lawrence County Family Court, in October in the Village of Gouverneur. It is also alleged that that time Foote applied pressure on the neck of a 9-year-old.
