PARISHVILLE — A high speed pursuit of a Chevy box truck Thursday morning by state troopers eventually ended in charges for a Parishville man who was found hiding in a shed after the chase.

On Aug. 3, around 10:31 a.m., state police observed a white 2006 Chevrolet express truck traveling at a high rate of speed, said Trooper Brandi M. Ashley, Troop B Public Information Officer.

Troopers initiated a traffic stop, interviewed the driver, who was identified as Jeremai J. Montroy, 48, of Parishville.

An investigation determined Montroy had an active warrant for his arrest from a prior incident.

Troopers asked Montroy to get out of the vehicle to be interviewed further regarding the warrant, Ashley said.

Montroy failed to comply and sped off in the vehicle. Troopers initiated a pursuit. Montroy stopped the vehicle near his parent’s residence on School Street (County Route 47) and fled into a nearby wooded area.

Troopers located Montroy hiding in a shed.

According to the eye witness at the scene, the pursuit of the box truck, which had “Jason Montroy’s Driveway Sealing” painted on the side, went from Route 11B, down the McIntyre Road then back onto Route 47 (School Street) before the the truck pulled over into a driveway on that road.

Montroy was arrested and transported to SP Canton for processing.

He was released on an appearance ticket for fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle 3rd and issued a vehicle and traffic ticket for speeding.

The tickets are returnable to the Town of Stockholm Court for a later date in September.
