Seven people are now quarantined and six have been tested, but no COVID-19 infections have been confirmed in St. Lawrence County.

Public health officials say six tests have been issued and two are still pending, but no one has tested positive so far.

Although there haven’t been any confirmed infections here many organizations are canceling events, including the annual Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club Expo, which draws hundreds to the city and Canton’s Peter Rabbit in the Park.

Also on that list of closures is Ogdensburg Command Performances March 31 presentation of ‘Pout Pout Fish.’ at the OFA auditorium is canceled.

Ogdensburg Free Academy also canceled upcoming wrestling and figure skating events along with Odyssey of the Mind and a driver safety course.

St. Lawrence-Lewis County BOCES has launched a cancelation page, which is comprehensive for all 18 school districts.

A fundraising event in Norwood and several local SOAR classes in Canton and Potsdam have been canceled, and Canton officials have closed the recreation pavilion in response to coronavirus.

The 6th Annual Claire's Fitness Fun Day organized by Team Claire and the Norwood-Norfolk Central School Key Club for Saturday, March 21 has been canceled due to concerns over COVID-19.

The SOAR Board of Directors has cancelled all SOAR classes from March 16 through April 10.

The Canton Recreation Pavilion and associated activities are closed until March 23.

“In consultation with Canton Central School district and based on advice received from the County Public Health Department, the Town and Village are closing the Recreation Pavilion, beginning immediately and effective through Monday, March 23. We continue to monitor the situation and further information will be posted on the COVID-19 update page at www.cantonny.gov,” said Canton Village Trustee Carol Pynchon.

The Massena Rehabilitation and Nursing Center has also closed its doors to the public.

“This is temporary and will be re-evaluated on a daily basis. Loved ones of residents will be immediately contacted when it is lifted,” a Facebook post from the administrator said.
