POTSDAM – Licensed Physician Assistant Janice Shea has joined the general surgery team at Canton-Potsdam Hospital (CPH), 50 Leroy St.

Shea earned her degree in Medical Science from Alderson-Broaddus College, Phillipi, WV.

She comes to CPH with extensive experience in assisting with robotic surgery, along with colorectal, orthopedic, urological and OB-GYN, and vascular surgeries.

Most recently she was the head surgical physician assistant where she had been hired for the expansion of the hospital’s robotic surgery program.

“I have a comprehensive background in robotics, and I believe my skill set will benefit the people of the North Country. With the impending implementation of robotic surgery at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, community members can avoid the need to travel to larger medical facilities for such procedures,” PA Shea said.

As a general Surgery Physician Assistant, Ms. Shea has expertise in pre-surgical assessment, surgical assistance, and post-operative care. She is highly skilled in collaborating with all members of the surgical team to achieve exceptional patient outcomes.
