Candidate who wants to replace Sen. Little endorsed by two state senators

Assemblyman Dan Stec, R-Queensbury, picked up two more endorsements in his 45th District Senate campaign. Assemblyman Stec was endorsed by State Senators Jim Tedisco and Daphne Jordan in his effort to succeed retiring Sen. Betty Little.

“I’d like to thank Senators Tedisco and Jordan for supporting my campaign for State Senate,” said Stec. “As an Assemblyman, I’ve found both to be strong partners in the efforts to protect our communities and enact strong, common-sense legislation. I look forward to working with both in the Senate to accomplish even more.”

The 45th Senate District comprises all or part of six different counties. Assemblyman Stec has been officially received the official endorsement from the Republican Party Committees in five of the six: Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Warren and Washington. He is also supported by the St. Lawrence and Warren County Conservative Parties and state Independence Party, and is the recipient of endorsements from dozens of state and local elected officials in all six counties.

The 45th district includes the eastern St. Lawrence County towns of Parishville, Clare, Colton, Hopkinton, Lawrence and Piercefield, plus to the east, Franklin, Clinton, Essex, Warren and Washington counties.

“When emergency first responders started reaching out about the terrible new bail and discovery reform laws, Dan Stec joined me in taking action,” Sen. Tedisco said. “He’s the Assembly sponsor of my bill protecting emergency first responders, and he’s shown himself to be a strong partner on this serious issue. When Dan becomes the next State Senator in the 45th District, he’ll be the type of fighter and ally we need to make our communities safer and stronger.”

“Dan Stec is truly a leader who gets it,” said Sen. Jordan. “In the time that I’ve known him, he’s shown himself to be a hardworking leader who puts the well-being of our communities first. He’ll be a great addition to the State Senate and I’m pleased to endorse his campaign.”

Stec, who has served in the Assembly since 2013, has North Country roots in the St. Lawrence area. Prior to joining the Navy, Stec attended Clarkson University for his undergraduate work. He met his wife of 29 years, Hilary Stec, in St. Lawrence County when she was a SUNY Potsdam student.
