WANAKENA -- Forty-eight students at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) Ranger School graduated May 20 during the school’s 103rd commencement exercises.
Twenty-nine received associate’s degrees in forest technology, five students received associate’s degrees in land surveying technology and 14 students received associates degrees in environmental and natural resources conservation.
Commencement speakers included Dr. Michael R. Bridgen, the school’s director and a professor; Dr. Nosa Egiebor, provost and executive vice president; Dr. Quentin Wheeler, school president; salutatorian Keith Burley, valedictorian Nathan Mooney, and class president, Jerry Frederick.
Twenty awards, amounting to over $5,800, were presented to outstanding students, including the class leaders.
Among the graduates was St. Lawrence County resident Even Greenwald of Cranberry Lake.
The Ranger School is part of the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) in Syracuse.
