Canton, NY – Josh Yelvington had a monster game posting seven goals and two assists to lead the SUNY Canton men's lacrosse team to a key 16-13 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win v. Husson University on Senior Day on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Yelvington led all players with seven goals and nine points, while adding five ground balls. Noah Robinson chipped in three goals and two assists, while Dante Coco and Andrew Garrett tallied two goals each. Hunter Olsen finished with a goal and assist and Jacob Facey also scored.
Nick Walberger had a huge performance in the X for the Roos going 22-for-30 while picking up a game-high 13 ground balls. Eli Kocsis caused a game-high three turnovers and picked up five ground balls, while Brandon Schmidt totaled six ground balls.
Husson jumped out to an early 3-0 lead but the Roos rattled off five unanswered tallies to lead 5-3 early in the second quarter. The teams went into intermission tied at seven apiece.
The Eagles led 12-10 with 4:21 remaining in the third quarter but Canton showed its mental toughness with five unanswered goals to take a 15-12 lead that it wouldn't relinquish.
Kody Kocsis made 11 saves in the win, while Bryan Wagg turned aside 11 shots over the final 30 minutes in the loss.
SUNY Canton held the upper hand in shots on goal (36-24), ground balls (60-36) and face offs (24-8).
Jaden Wells, Gunner McAllister and Adam Littlefield all finished with three goals and one assist for Husson.
The Roos recognized seniors Hunter Yerdon, Josh Yelvington and Kody Kocsis in a pregame ceremony.
