Canton, NY – Three different Roos recorded double-doubles as the SUNY Canton men's basketball team sent its seniors out with a 91-88 double overtime win v. NVU-Lyndon in the regular season finale for Canton on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Jahleel Gabriel hit a jumper from the right wing with 1:40 left in the first overtime to give Lyndon a one-point lead and Damon Denteh split a pair of free throws with 1:17 to extend the lead to 78-76. Robert Holliday, Jr. tied the game with 1:05 remaining on a jumper from the right elbow. Each team had a chance for the win down the stretch but they played to a second overtime.
Denteh converted an old-fashioned three-point play to give the Hornets a two-point lead but Joseph Werner found Andrew Fitch for a bucket inside. Ricky Shuford drained a three to regain the lead for Lyndon at 85-82.
Holliday completed an old-fashioned three-point play to put Canton up 87-85 and Fitch finished off an offensive rebound after Stewart's missed three with one second on the shot clock to go up 89-85. Shubert drilled a three with 18.7 seconds left to get the Hornets back within one. Brandon Adkisson made a pair of free throws with 12 seconds left and Fitch sealed the win with a block on a three-point attempt.
The Roos jumped out to a 6-0 lead and Fitch scored six of Canton's first eight points. After a brief Hornets run the teams continued to battle back-and-forth and went to intermission tied at 38 apiece. Fitch and Werner combined for 15 points and nine rebounds in the first half, while Denteh (12) and Shuford (11) paced the Hornets.
The Hornets took their first lead of the game with a layup out of halftime from Denteh. The teams remained tied at 53 midway through the second half. Lyndon used a 7-0 run to take their largest lead at 60-53.
Canton battled back to tie it at 66 and the teams exchanged three-pointers as Holliday hit a three from the right win with 2:36 left as it remained knotted at 69. Shuford drained a jumper from the left elbow with 2:19 remaining to give the Hornets a two-point lead. Stewart tied the game on a jumper with 45 seconds left as the teams played to overtime.
Adkisson posted a team-high 20 points and Jordan Stewart had a double-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Fitch had a monster game with 18 points and 19 rebounds, while Werner also recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards. Holliday, Jr. also had double figures with 13 points.
Denteh led the way with 27 points for the Hornets, while Shuford posted a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
SUNY Canton honored its two seniors Adkisson and Stewart in a pregame ceremony.

"I was really happy that our team was able to send BA (Adkisson) and Jayo (Stewart) out with a win on Senior," Head Coach Ben Thompson said. "Our guys really fought throughout the game against a scrappy Lyndon team; credit them for how hard they played. Our team looks forward to see who we will play in the NAC Tournament."
WHAT'S NEXT
This closes out the regular season for the Roos, who have qualified for the NAC Tournament. SUNY Canton will await the conference's official release on Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning but the Roos have secured a home game for the quarterfinal round.
