Wood seeks reelection as Hopkinton town supervisor
Tuesday, July 9, 2019 - 9:57 am

I would like to take this opportunity to announce my candidacy for re-election in November as the supervisor of the Town of Hopkinton.

I was first elected to the Town Board in 2000, and took over as supervisor following the death of Marvin Rust in 2012. I was reappointed to this position in 2015.

During my tenure, I have developed a deep understanding of the responsibilities of town supervisor and my number one concern always has been, and will continue to be, to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of all Hopkinton residents. The town has accomplished many significant goals over the past years while maintaining good, sound fiscal management.

I have been able to secure grant funding to accomplish many improvements to town facilities (town hall, town museum, municipal building). I hope to continue my efforts to preserve, maintain and make improvements to these buildings, as well as the town garage.

I understand the challenges small towns face and I am committed to working collaboratively with the board and with Hopkinton residents to devise solutions that will maintain the character and integrity of Hopkinton.

My door is always open and I welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss your concerns. I currently hold evening office hours on Monday and Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. I can also be available by appointments at other times.

My commitment is to continue to serve the citizens of Hopkinton and contribute to its growth and prosperity. We live in a remarkable community, filled with people who share a deep appreciation of a small town.

Together we will continue to make a positive impact.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding my candidacy.

Susan M. Wood
