Opinion: Now is not the time to play politics, says Ogdensburg man

This letter was sent to all Ogdensburg City Councilors and the mayor.

This nation, this state, this county and yes this city is facing the most serious existential threat in our lifetime.

This pandemic will be a game changer and now is not the time for political newcomers whose only experience is that they are "business men" to play politics. We need stability and experience now more than ever.

The "business man" who is in the White House failed to listen to experts … because only he knew best.

So in the 2018 budget he cut 37 epidemiology teams that were in charge of profiling and developing potential responses for multiple viruses around the globe These eminent scientists could have given this nation a 3-year heads up on a vaccine.

So now is not the time for any political gamesmanship. We need to steady experienced hands on deck to effectively manage what lies ahead in this existential crisis we are all facing, yes even in this city.
