Opinion: Massena Town Council candidate cites balance, ethics, transparency

My name is Sue Bellor and I have been inspired and encouraged to run for Massena Town Council in November 2019. As a result of the March petition process, I gathered the required signatures and garnered support from many.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the many enrolled members of the SLC Republican Party, the SLC Conservative Party and the Independence Party who circulated and or signed my petition. I want to thank the SLC Republican Party executive committee, the SLC Conservative Party and the Independence Party who endorsed my candidacy.

Since early January I have received phone calls, emails, letters, cards and notes locally and from across three counties and from out of state, who have expressed thanks and encouragement to me, inclusive of bipartisan support.

Whether a parishioner tapped me on the shoulder at church, verbally thanked me or whether a customer at a local grocery store, business or restaurant approached me to shake my hand, hug me, thank me, or give me a “thumbs up”, it has meant a lot to me.

I am a hard worker and will approach the job aspiring to represent the best qualities of an elected official: Balance, ethics, speaking freely, and transparency. I will work hard and be a voice for the people!

Thank you for your support.

P.S. I am cohosting a meet-and-greet May 7 at Morley’s Restaurant Massena, 6-8pm and I would enjoy meeting you and discussing Massena’s issues.

Sue (Spadafore) Bellor
