LOCAL EVENTS ON MONDAY

Lyme disease talk

CANTON: Preventing Lyme and other Tick-borne Disease, 6:30 p.m., at Cornell Cooperative Extension, Canton, with Dr. Stephen Rich; aimed to the general public, will provide an overview of the hazards and risks associated with human biting ticks; Rich will describe and explain appropriate personal protection measures that can greatly reduce risk. Handouts and tick ID tools helping with tick identification and prevention will be provided.

Take it or Leave It

CANTON: SUNY Canton’s annual “Take it or Leave It” program, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Roos House Convocation, Athletic and Recreation Center’s ice arena; collects unwanted clothing and household items from students who are moving out of the residence halls and offers them free of charge to the community and charitable organizations; public invited to browse; info: Sheila Peo 315-386-7676.
