Waddington to kick off Christmas season tomorrow night

WADDINGTON – The annual Waddington Village Christmas Celebration kicks off Friday, Dec. 6 with wine tastings, an art exhibit, crafts, auction and the annual village tree lighting in Island View Park.

A variety of Christmas events and activities are planned for the rest of the weekend and over the next couple weeks.

Saturday, Dec. 7 will see Main Street closed to traffic to allow shopping, games and other activities. There will be a bonfire and marshmallow roasting as well as a holiday dance.

Breakfast with Santa kicks off the days events on Sunday which will end with a candlelight concert.

The following is a full schedule of events planned for the Celebration:

4-7 p.m. Thousand Islands Wine Tasting at Borderlife Wine & Spirits

5-7 p.m. “It’s All About Color” new exhibit by Cait Throop and open house at The Gallery.

4 p.m. Marshmallow men making for kids and start of the silent auction.

6 p.m. Annual tree lighting at Island View Park.

Saturday, Dec. 7

Main street will be close to vehicles from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

11 a.m.-5 p.m. Holiday cheer with shopping, activities, games on Main Street.

11 a.m.-2 p.m. Seasonal wellness class and certified aroma therapy demo at The Marketplace at Clark House.

1-3 p.m. Christmas tea at Hepburn Library.

1-4 p.m. Holiday glass ornament painting at The Gallery.

2-4 p.m. Free cookie decorating at The Artworks Creperie.

2-4 p.m. Songs of the Season with Colin McNamara and Brooke Backus at The Marketplace at Clark House.

4-6 p.m. Cookie decorating class with royal icing, $30 for 12 cookies per person at Main Street Perc.

5-7 p.m. Bonfire and marshmallows on Main Street.

5-8 p.m. Full course dinner with entertainment by Michelle and Kirk Robinson at the Artworks Creperie.

9-11 p.m. Village holiday dance. Wear your ugliest sweater or your finest holiday cheer. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. At The Old Town Hall.

Sunday, Dec. 8

9-11 a.m. Breakfast with Santa at The Artworks Creperie.

1-3 p.m. Kid’s cupcake frosting activity at Main Street Perc. $5 for 3 cupcakes per child. Signups on Facebook.

1-4 p.m. Kid’s ornament workshop at The Gallery.

4 p.m. Candlelight Concert with Sondra Goldsmith Proctor and Friends at the Presbyterian Church.

Friday, Dec. 13

5:30-7:30 p.m. Wagon rides and bonfire on Main Street. Marshmallows at the fire and other refreshments served at The Gallery.

Saturday, Dec. 14

2-4 p.m. Free kid’s crafts at The Artworks Creperie.

7 p.m. Lessons and carols at St. Paul’s Church.

Saturday, Dec. 21

3-4 p.m. Pajama party at The Artworks Creperie. Cartoons, cookies and hot chocolate.

There will be a raffle of a large gift basket at The Marketplace at Clark House. Tickets will be sold from Nov. 29 through Dec. 15.

The “It’s All About Color” gift basket silent auction at The Gallery at Lake Saint Lawrence Arts ends Dec. 15 at 5 p.m.
