OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg City Council and Mayor Wayne L. Ashley have unanimously issued a proclamation supporting the Ogdensburg Public Library in recognition of upcoming National Library Week April 9-15.

The council issued the proclamation Monday, March 27, at the city council meeting.

The Ogdensburg Public Library will have different events going on all week to celebrate the week.

The following is the schedule:

• Monday, April 10, 2 p.m., social hour, cake and coffee; 3:30 p.m. Silver Sneakers exercise program for seniors;

• Tuesday, April 11, 1:30 p.m., seed saving program with Paul Hetzler of Cornell Cooperative Extension;

• Wednesday, April 12, 10 a.m., adult coloring circle; 10:30 a.m. senior social hour;

Events that will be happening all week include: Amnesty Week -- if you have an overdue item, bring it and an item for the food pantry, and your fine will be waived; daily coffee tasting and treats will be by the main floor reading area; Book Tasting – books will be wrapped in paper with a short and vague description.

All programs are sponsored by The Friends of the Library.
