The events include:

• June 22: “Talking is Teaching” kick-off at Norwood Beach, 1 p.m.; board book giveaway, songs, story-walk, and art activity. Parent-tot swimming signups available.

• June 29: “Butterflies 101”: Learn about butterflies, followed by butterfly release; 11 a.m.-12 p.m.; for ages 5-99, children under 8 must be with adult.

• July 2: Summer Reading Kickoff: Ice cream social and sign up for the library’s Read-at-Home Program; children earn “cosmic cash” to spend at the “cosmic store” along with books; 2 p.m.

• July 10: Decorate Australian didgeridoo; ages 5+; 1:00-2:30 p.m.; to register 315-353-6692.

• July 11: Library at the Norwood Beach; sun/sand stories; make magic sunglasses; 12-1 p.m.

• July 17: Create Navajo sand art project; ages 5+; 1-2 p.m.; to register 315-353-6692.

• July 18: Library at the Norwood Beach; story “Sharks,” shark tooth dig, songs, play; 12-1 p.m.

• July 23: Science presentation including optical illusions, electrical demonstrations, space facts; from Watertown’s Sci-Tech Museum; 5:00 p.m.

• July 24: Create African masks; ages 5+; 1-2:30 p.m.; to register 315-353-6692.

• July 25: Library at the Norwood Beach: pirate stories, treasure maps, songs, play; 12-1 p.m.
