POTSDAM -- SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will welcome Barry Green as an artist-in-residence from Nov. 11 to 15. The weeklong residency will include public lectures, workshops, recitals and a special performance with the Crane Symphony Orchestra.
Green is a renowned bassist, clinician, author and motivational speaker. He will present three workshops based on his books, offer a lecture/recital and direct the Crane Symphony Orchestra in a multimedia presentation and concert.
All events are free, and the public is invited to attend. The schedule is as follows:
• Monday, Nov. 11, workshop, "The Inner Game of Music," 7-8:30 p.m. in Crane Room C107;
• Tuesday, Nov. 12, open rehearsal with Crane Symphony Orchestra, 2-3:50 p.m., Sara M. Snell Music Theater;
• Wednesday, Nov. 13, lecture/recital, "Anna's Way" and "Anna's Gift," 1-1:40 p.m., Snell Theater; workshop, "Master of Music," 2-2:50 p.m., Snell Theater; Workshop 3, "Bring Music to Life," 3-3:50 p.m., Snell Theater;
• Thursday, Nov. 14 Crane Symphony Orchestra concert featuring "Anna's Promise," 7:30 p.m., Snell Theater; and
• Friday, Nov. 15, workshop with the National String Project, 4-5 p.m., Crane Room A323.
