HERMON — The Atkinson Family Band will perform at McBrier Park in Hermon on July 30 from 6-8 p.m. The concert is open to the public and free of charge.
The bluegrass band known for original songwriting and a modern Americana sound, is based in Pitcairn but performs at venues and festivals throughout the northeast, midwest, Ontario, Quebec, and in the south in Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia and Florida.
Primarily a family band, the current group’s lineup includes Dick Atkinson on banjo and vocals, Shelene Atkinson on guitar and vocals, their daughter Liza on guitar and vocals, daughter Sara on bass and vocals, granddaughter Raven Winters on mandolin and close friend Dave Bevins of Chilson, a former national dobro champion, on resonator guitar.
The group has released five studio albums, and has multiple videos of past live performances on YouTube.
