POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Wireless Zone Verizon franchisee is building a new store on Market Street closer to downtown than its current location in the Potsdam Plaza.
The new store is being built on Market Street next to Taco Bell near the SeaComm Plaza.
The new 2,000 square-foot store construction is being led by general contractor Con Tech Building Systems of Gouverneur. Project Manager Katie DeJesus said they expect to finish the job before the end of November.
The estimated cost of the construction is $667,000, according to its building permit application.
The Village of Potsdam receives a $5,336 fee for the permit.
When they move to the new store, the current Wireless Zone Verizon store, near the Price Chopper in the Potsdam Plaza on Outer Market Street, will close.
Wireless Group Holdings is the owner of the Potsdam business, which also owns Verizon stores in Ogdensburg and Evans Mills.
