Mary E. House, 101, Gouverneur

GOUVERNEUR -- Mary E. House, 101, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Samaritan Summit Village in Watertown.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 21st at 11:00 am in Riverside Cemetery, Gouverneur with lay pastor Martha Helmer officiating.

Arrangements are with Green Funeral Home in Gouverneur.

Mary was born in Burlington, VT on October 13, 1922, the daughter of Simeon and Helen (Fales) Jobin.

Her family moved to Gouverneur in 1927 and she graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1941.

Mary had worked at the paper mill in Natural Dam, Wilson’s Restaurant, ACME Grocery Store, and Yerdon’s Bakery.

She enjoyed the family camp at Pleasant Lake.

Mary was previously married to Tommie Black. She married Robert House in July of 1984.

She is survived by her sons, Lyle Jobin of St. Augustine, FL and Tom Black of Gouverneur, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mary is predeceased by her parents, her husband, her sisters, Lyla Sheen, Laurel Towne, and Ursula Roy, her brothers, Lawrence Jobin and Raymond Jobin.
