Louis M. "Lou" Rottier, 77, Massena

MASSENA – Graveside services for Louis M. “Lou” Rottier, 77, a resident of 37 ½ Martin Street, Massena, will be held at a later date in the Riverside Cemetery, Norwood. Lou passed away December 1, 2023 at the Samaritan Keep Home in Watertown after a brief stay. Lou is survived by his wife of 20 years, Marie Smith Gravelle, Massena; a step-son, Aaron and April Gravelle, Norwood; a step-daughter, Bliss and Jeffrey Fayette, Theresa; four beloved grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; a brother, Douglas and Monique Rottier, TX and two sisters, Marion and Wendell Ruegsegger, MS and Theresa Barney, Malone as well as several nieces and nephews. Lou was pre-deceased by his parents and four siblings, Darrell, William Jr. and Michael Rottier and Susan Perry.

Born in Malone on April 24, 1946 to the late William and Isabelle Bova Rottier Sr., Lou graduated from high school served in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving two tours during Vietnam. Upon his return home, Lou worked for Reynolds Metals and ALCOA in Massena for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed mowing lawns, taking care of his beloved Dachshund dogs, Jasmine and Joe and hanging out at Bob’s garage in Norwood.
