Joyce M. Legault, 89, Louisville

LOUISVILLE -- A private prayer service for Joyce M. Legault of Willard Road Louisville, NY, will take place on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena with Rev. Mark Reilly presiding.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Lawrence Church in the spring with burial to take place in the parish Cemetery.

The family has entrusted arrangements to the care and guidance of the Phillips Memorial Home, located at 64 Andrews Street in Massena, NY.

Joyce passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.

Joyce is survived by her three children, Randy Legault of Zephyrhills FL; Larry Legault and Molly Griffin of Louisville, NY and Michael and Tracie Legault of Louisville, NY; six grandchildren, Amanda, Kimberly and Buddy Kemison, Samantha Joy, Michelle and Katelyn Legault; eight great-grandchildren along with a son in-law, Jim Dupris of Massena; five sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her loving husband, Raymond A. Legault in 2017, a son, Arthur in infancy, a daughter, Sharon Legault in 2010, daughter, Sandy Dupris in 2021, her siblings; two sisters, Elma Wilkins and Barb Girard, three brothers, Bob, Carl and Dick Girard.

Joyce was born to the late Elie and Evelyn (Rouselle) Girard on August 17, 1934, in Rooseveltown, NY.

She attended Massena schools graduating from Massena High School.

Shortly after graduating, Joyce began her career working at ALCOA in the office as a clerk. She then meant her husband Raymond A. Legault, and on May 4, 1957, they were married by the late Rev. Nugent at St. Lawrence Church in Louisville, NY.

They began their family and she worked at Ames Department Store for nearly 20 years, then went to work for SEARS as a sales associate retiring after 9 years in the service department.

She enjoyed time spent with family and friends and loved to play BINGO and watching Westerns Shows on television.

Joyce was also a communicant of St. Lawrence Church. Was a past member of the Altar and Rosary Society with St. Lawrence Church in Louisville, NY.
