David A. Colby, 74, Massena

MASSENA -- David A. Colby, 74, of Maple Street, passed away on December 24, 2023, at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.

David was born May 10, 1949, in Potsdam, the son of the late William and Elizabeth (Losey) Colby.

He graduated from Holy Family in 1967 and later served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged after four years of dedicated service.

David later married Faline Lawrence on May 26, 1984, in Massena.

David started out working in the Pot Rooms at Alcoa and later held the position of Coordinator of Safety, retiring in 2003.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and attending the Alcoa retiree lunches.

David was a member of the Massena American Legion, DAV, and Alcoa 25-year club.

David is survived by his wife, Faline “Fae” Colby; his daughter, Anastasia (Todd) Blanchard; four grandchildren, Jessica, Brittany, Dannel, and Jade; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Ellen Colby, and a brother, William Colby.

Friends and family may call on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 11:00 am until the time of service, 2:00 pm at the Donaldson Funeral Home in Massena.
