Robert D. Hankins, 74, Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG -- A Memorial Service for Robert D. Hankins will be held Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Fox & Murray Funeral Home at 4:00 PM with Rev. Walter Smith officiating.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00 PM until the start. Mr. Hankins age 74, of Ogdensburg, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024, unexpectedly at his home.

Surviving Robert are his wife, Linda Hankins of Ogdensburg, NY; his stepdaughters, Angel (Michael) Fenton of Heuvelton, NY and Darcy (Peter) Backus of Waddington, NY; his stepsisters, Katina Thompson of Massena, NY and Patty Williams of Canada; grandchildren, Michael Perry, Derek Fenton, Nicholas Fenton, Colby and Alex Backus; and four great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, William M. Hankins and Marion Acker-Hankins-LaRue-Thomson; and a brother, William M. Hankins Jr.

Robert D. Hankins was born June 11, 1949, in Syracuse, NY to the late William M. Hankins and Marion Acker-Hankins-LaRue-Thomson.

He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1968. Most of his young adult life was spent in Florida and Colorado.

On August 17, 2002, Robert married Linda Perry.

Mr. Hankins was a lifelong artist, owning and retiring from his own business, Reach Molds. His work had been featured at Mares Wares in Morristown over the years.

Bob was an animal lover. He gave generously to causes supporting the ethical treatment of and prevention of cruelty to animals.

Bob enjoyed the simple things in life, reading a good book, gardening, cooking, music and dancing, photography, and trying new foods and drinks.
