Linda Rose (LaVare) Forte, 81, Moira

MOIRA – Linda Rose (LaVare) Forte, age 81, passed Monday (April 15, 2024) at the Alice Hyde Medical Center with her nephew and his wife, James and Marlie Sienkiewycz and great nephew, Benjamin Sienkiewycz by her side.

A time of visitation will be held Friday (April 19th) from 12-1:45 p.m. at the Flint Funeral Home, Moira, where her funeral services will commence at 2 p.m.

Burial will take place St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Brasher Falls at a later date.

Linda was born August 29, 1942, in Potsdam, the daughter of the late George & Gladys (Deon) LaVare.

She was a graduate of St. Lawrence Central School.

On November 15, 1976, Linda united into marriage with Anthony Forte, he predeceased her on May 20, 1986.

For over 23 years Linda was employed as a machine operator as the Weetabex Factory, in Clinton, Mass, retiring in 2009.

Prior to her employment with Weetabex she worked for Van Brody’s cutlery for 18 years as a line inspector.

Linda enjoyed watching Law and Order, Wheel of Fortune, and listening to country music.

She especially loved watching Daniel O’Donnell every Saturday night.

Linda loved traveling in her motorhome with her companion, Leo Agnew. Leo predeceased her in 2018.

Besides her parents, husband, and companion, she is predeceased by all 11 of her siblings, Pauline Barse, Vernon LaVare, Margaret Sova, Elizabeth Baile, Gerald LaVare, Robert LaVare, Yvonne Ward, Shirley Wilson, Philip LaVare, Phyllis Sienkiewycz, and Donald LaVare.

The past few years Linda treasured her dog, Tiny; they were inseparable and gave each other not only friendship, but the strength to face each day.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Sally LaVare of Brasher Falls, along with many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions in her honor can be made to one’s local St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
