John W. Adams, Jr., 79, Parishville

PARISHVILLE -- John W. Adams, Jr., 79, of 20 Picketville Road passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital.

John was born November 19, 1944 in Little Falls, NY, son of the late John W. and Alberta (Belknap) Adams. He was a graduate of Franklin Academy in Malone and earned his Bachelor’s at Plattsburgh State College. He married Donna F. Bronchetti on June 5, 1965 in Plattsburgh. Donna predeceased him on January 2, 2019. He married Marjorie Martin on July 7, 2022.

John was a communicant of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Hopkinton and a member of the Parishville Fire and Rescue and Parishville Dive Team. He was a Junior High English teacher at Parishville-Hopkinton school until his retirement and was an administrative assistant to John and Chloanne O’Neil Campaign.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and photographer. He also was a gifted woodworker, and enjoyed building many miniature doll houses with Donna, and bult and flew model airplanes.

John is survived by his wife, Marjorie; his daughter, Jacqueline (Arturo) Cespedes of Hallandale Beach, FL; and three grandchildren, Isabella, Isaac and Jacob.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Alberta, and his first wife, Donna, his daughter, Tammy Jo Adams in 1969, and his siblings, Woody Adams and Penny Adams.

Friends may call at the Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home on Monday beginning at 2 -4 PM where a funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM with Fr. Alfred Fish officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in John’s memory to Parishville Fire and Rescue.
