Diane R. (Lassial) Tynon, 79, Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG -- Diane R. (Lassial) Tynon, age 79, of Ogdensburg, NY, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at Frary Funeral Home.

Mass for Ms. Tynon will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 11:00AM at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Ogdensburg, followed by a reception for family and friends at the Frary House Reception Center, located at 525 Caroline Street, Ogdensburg.

Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in the Spring.

Diane is survived by her daughter, Christine (Tynon) Welker and her husband, Daniel, of
Bridgeport, NY; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Kevin LaRock and Billy LaRock; a sister, Tammy Otto; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Diane is predeceased by her son, Henry Tynon, and siblings, Robby LaRock and Dawn Waiculonis, and  by her former husband, Donald M. Tynon.

Diane was born on March 27, 1944, in Ogdensburg, NY, the daughter of the late Henry A. and Constance (Miller) Lassial.

 She attended St. Mary’s Academy and Roethel’s Business School.

Diane was a secretary with the Diocese of Ogdensburg for over 40 years at the time of her retirement. She started her career at the Chancery office and later moved over to the Spratt Building.

Her dedication to her work extended beyond her family; She was committed to the diocese youth ministry camp Guggenheim. Devoting special attention to Camp Guggenheim, to ensure that as many youths as possible had the opportunity to experience the faith generated at camp.

Diane delighted in spoiling her grandchildren and adored the company of her dogs. She found great joy creating in knitting and crocheting, especially crafting blankets and sweaters for her grandchildren and others. In addition, thinking ahead, she made a baby blanket and sweater set for future great grandchildren.

Diane’s life was a testament to her boundless love for horses. She found her greatest joy in the company of horses, caring for them as often as possible with grace and passion.
