Bernard E. Beaudette, 91, Canton

CANTON -- A Memorial Mass for Bernard E. Beaudette, 91, a resident of the United Helpers Maplewood Campus, Canton, and formerly of Holland Patent and Norfolk, NY, will be held on Saturday, January 27th at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the Maplewood Campus.

There will be a bereavement luncheon following at 12:30 pm at the St. Mary's Parish Center gym.

Burial will be held in the Visitation Cemetery in Norfolk at a future date.

Bernard passed away Monday evening, January 22, 2024, at the United Helpers Maplewood Campus in Canton with family at his side.

Bernard is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lois, Maplewood, Canton, NY; his three sons, Lee and Angela Beaudette, Uxbridge, MA; Michael Beaudette and his wife, Laura LeFevre, Gansevoort, NY; John and Pamela Beaudette, Morley; his three daughters, Sue Beaudette, Schenectady, NY; Lynn and Robert Fava, Berlin Heights, OH and Robin Beaudette, Buffalo, NY; sixteen beloved grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, a sister, Janet and Victor Brenon, and a sister-in-law, Peggy Beaudette.

Bernard was pre-deceased by his parents; a brother, James Beaudette, and a sister, Joanne Beaudette.

Born in Westville, NY on May 19, 1932, to the late Leo A. and Margaret E. Farlinger Beaudette, Bernard attended Norfolk High School and entered the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953.

He married his love, Lois J. Plumb on September 11, 1954, at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk.

Bernard worked for the Department of Defense as a Government Quality Assurance Inspector for 32 years, retiring in 1993.

Bernard was a member of the American Legion, camping clubs, and a past Scout Master.

He along with his wife and children fostered over 40 children throughout the years, adding joy to their lives.

He enjoyed dancing, especially country and Modern Western Square dancing.

Bernard and Lois loved traveling and camping throughout their married life, spending many summers in the Adirondacks.

After retirement, they traveled and camped throughout North America visiting all 50 states, the Canadian providences, and Mexico.
